Tags: new york city manhattan new york nyc grand central spent a week back home and i miss living in new york but having now pretended to be a tourist there wow why would you subject yourself to all that stuff i mean yes visit new york but the standard touristy stuff is awful times square rockafeller center the empire state building why? take the staten island ferry & get a beer onboard go to grand central and check out the spot where you can talk into one corner and it sounds like you're talking in someone's ear in the other corner get on the subway and just switch lines endlessly and people watch get your face almost kicked in by some kids doing subway acrobatics stop and listen to the buskers with musical instruments check out the stations with weird mosaics and art in them go to the brooklyn botanic gardens i mean the one in the bronx is cool but brooklyn's is far superior walk along the promenade in brooklyn heights walk across the williamsburg bridge especially while you can still see the remains of the domino sugar factory go to chinatown and eat dim sum in a big featureless room get a slice of pizza from a pizza place that's just a counter out onto the street
